About
Technophony explores experimental music, creative music technology, writing, and audio engineering through the support, creation, and distribution of recordings and texts. Founded in 2016 by Jeff Kaiser, Technophony has grown from a blog documenting electro-mechanical noise into a production studio, independent record label, and publishing house dedicated to innovative sonic and technological practices.
Jeff Kaiser
Jeff Kaiser—founder of Technophony, composer, trumpeter, scholar, and music technologist—brings over 25 years of experience in experimental music, audio engineering, and creative technology. He has collaborated with hundreds of artists and institutions, combining scholarly insight, creativity, and practical expertise.
Kaiser oversees all aspects of Technophony’s work: recording, mixing, mastering, artwork, manufacturing, production, distribution, and consulting. He collaborates with a network of experienced professionals across art, publishing, video, and audio production domains.
This work continues the legacy of pfMENTUM, Kaiser’s previous label—a 23-year collective that released over 150 projects by more than 700 artists and engineers. That history informs Technophony’s artist-centered approach and commitment to sonic exploration.
