Books
Technophony publishes books and texts exploring sound, music, and creative technology from experimental, artistic, pedagogical, and scholarly perspectives. We seek works with a strong voice that contribute meaningfully to ongoing conversations in sound, music technology, and creative practice.
What We Publish
We’re interested in texts that examine how sound is made, framed, experienced, and understood within contemporary technological environments. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Texts on sound art, experimental music, music technology pedagogy, and electro-acoustic practice
- Writing on music technology, creative systems, and technological mediation
- Artist-driven research and practice-based scholarship
- Critical and theoretical perspectives on sound, noise, and listening
- Hybrid forms that cross boundaries between analysis, documentation, and creative work
Our Approach
We work closely with authors to ensure that each project reflects the conceptual depth, care, and intentionality that went into it. We prefer projects that can be made available through open-access models, ensuring that writing on sound, music, and technology remains widely accessible to artists, scholars, and readers.
